Cancer Screening Guide: Cancer screenings enable medical providers to catch cancer in the early stages, when the disease is most treatable. This chart offers screening guidelines from the American Cancer Society. Women and men at high risk for these diseases may need earlier or more frequent screenings; please check with your doctor.

She.  Me.  We.
: She.Me.We is more than a campaign to build awareness for breast cancer, it is a support system for women that communicates that we're in this together...sisters, mothers, friends, me...all of us, joined together in awareness. At Sanford, we understand that receiving support from loved ones plays a key role in the healing process.  This campaign is about uniting all of us in a sisterhood of awareness and support.  Breast cancer survivors and women currently battling breast cancer can take comfort in knowing that in addition to the support they receive from their families, they also have the support of the community and the medical family at Sanford.

Biking for Breast Cancer
: Biking for Breast Cancer is an opportunity for anyone who has been touched by the disease to raise awareness for breast cancer.  Cyclists can choose a 20-mile bike ride in Sioux Falls or a 50-mile road ride throughout the area countryside.  Both rides will start and end at the Sanford Cancer Center with a celebration at the completion of the ride.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure: Susan G. Komen fought breast cancer with her heart, body and soul.  Throughout her diagnosis, treatments, and endless days in the hospital, she spent her time thinking of ways to make life better for other women battling breast cancer instead of worrying about her own situation.  That concern for others continued even as Susan neared the end of her fight.  Moved by Susan’s compassion for others and committed to making a difference, Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

American Cancer Society: If you or someone you know has cancer, a single toll-free call to 1.800.ACS.2345 will put you in touch with your American Cancer Society.  Trained Cancer Information Specialists are available to assist you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  If you are calling during business hours, ask to speak directly to your local Navigator.
